Management meeting minutes - June 3, 2009

In attendance:

Josef, John Harvey, Chicken Leather, Veronica, Winona, Leticia, Syd, DaveM, Arthur, Juan, Sam, et. al.

1. Bicycle film festival

 

            2 years old event at mayan theatre, looking for new venues, possibly independent in downtown, paul would like to include all the L.A. bike Co-op’s and LACBC. What will be the ovens contribution? 3 day event. Get Ed Reyes involved, Screenings, BarBQue, Hand out flyers.

- We have agreed to be involved, when we know about the dates and any further information

 

 

2. Fridge

 

            We need a Fridge.

- agreed to get a waist high/mini-fridge. Sam has a mini-fridge in his room he has agreed to sell it the oven for $20.00, He will deliver it.

 

3. Oven

 

            What are we doing with it?

-it will be either storage piece, art piece, or WILL ONLY BE USED OUTSIDE, IF IT IS TO BE USED TO COOK ON

 

4. Stand Time Price increase

 

            SHOT DOWN…NOT GONNA HAPPEN

 

5. Los Angeles River Ride

 

            Sunday June 7, Looking for Mechanics for the weekend, afternoon shift

-Business cards, flyers to hand out

-oven closed?? – open, Veronica and Winona will open up

-Make spoke cards, Sam, Veronica, Syd, Winona

 

6. Devin’s Bikes

 

            Leo Donated a gangload of shitty mountain bikes, magna etc.. the place was stuffed to the gills, So a few of the junkers were given to Devin, Why wasn’t anyone informed,

Although everyone agrees that it’s okay

 

7. Lube Bottles -

 

            Steve found needle tips that are cheap. Dave is going to order like 20 tips.

 

           

8. Trimming Bike Collection

 

            During a daytime, organize and sort through the collection Friday June 11th, Winona will organize a group of people to come in organize at least to sort through and tag, blah blah blah.

            Friday June 11th SYD will take photo’s to get them onto craigs list. the one’s that are ready to ride.

 

9. Movie

 

            Sunday, 7th 8PM Monty Python Movie night, Choppercabras.

 

10. Bike the talk/ L.A. bike master plan 3rd sunday of the month June 20th

 

            DOT takes no responsibility, No New standards, bike lanes, tones of scheduled bike lanes are now, planned but not feasible. Political action is planned, to shred bike plan, as well as politically attack specific DOT failures to local politicians, as well as establishing a relationship with the mayor’s office. Create rides, and other political action/civil disobedience to publicize Also asking for the bike plan to be released through public records.

           

 

11. Art show for June

 

            No word yet from CSU, Veronica will talk to candycane, CSU, Shawn from the midnight ridazz, and KAt

 

 

12. New Parts

 

            discuss it next month, for this month no purchases will be made. May limit orders to most common tube and tire sizes.

 

14. Personal Projects and Volunteer bikes in the shop

 

            Agreed that all bikes volunteer and otherwise will be retrieved by end of shift June 10th, thursday, There will be a post on the website (dave), email(veronica), and as a last resort winona agrees to call any bikes left with phone numbers, those not retrieved will become oven property.

 

 

15. Go Legit/Plan a plan B. let’s respond to letter dave will do.

manual of rules and regulations;  toss it on the email list, oven policies.

syd will be gone to san diego next week

Josef will install quickbooks on shop comp, Veronica will begin playing with it, more comprehensive POS system for future discussion
