Bike Oven Tutorial Series - Wheel bearing and hub maintenance

Wednesday October 8, 7:00pm - 10:00pm

This Wednesday will be the first in a weekly series of tutorials taught by the Bike Oven’s mechanics and covering all aspects of bicycle repair, maintenance, technology, tools, and advocacy. There are no prerequisites for this session and no prior mechanic experience is required. Anyone is welcome to attend. You will be given a brief overview of the theory, tools, and practice of hub bearing repair and will then have an opportunity to rebuild actual parts.

If you have a bike you would like to work on, please bring it along. If not, we will work on shop bikes.

Class size is limited to 8 students. Secure your spot by emailing Steve Itano at: sitano at gmail dot com.

First come, first served. Walk-ins will only be admitted if class size permits.

(Note: the shop will be closed for this class. No other shop use will be allowed while in session.)

The Oven’s tutorials are designed to help new and current volunteers get up to speed on various common repair tasks we see in the shop so that they can participate in the madness we call the BikeOven…priority will be given to those who want to become full fledged volunteers. But we can fill opens spaces with anyone who is simply interested in gaining new skills.
