Spoke’nArt Ride Saturday June 11 meet@6pm Leave @7pm

This month we have the art of Andrew huitink. It’s a complete suprise to me cuz aktive booked it so the art is so secret I cant even put a picture up. No bands that I know of just a simple ride through the nela art galleries. come with a bike& lights. Please do not come to the oven at 6 or 6:30 asking us to fix something c’mon, it’s rude. We do this bike ride for fun don’t make us hate it before it begins. We have a slow ride and fast ride so dont worry you really really wont get left behind.
heres some words about the artist. Remeber meet at the oven at 6pm we might leave earlier than 7pm.
Name: Andrew Huitink

Medium: Paintings, sculptures, painting on random objects, (glass, wood, etc.) Hand made prints, (free) handmade stickers, I will probably be hand printing about 10 or so t-shirts to hand out for free, To get one you have to either beat me to the gallery or be lucky.

Im hoping to have a bunch of different pieces so the show isnt just bland paintings and whatnot, i love painting on different objects besides just canvases, hopefully ill have at least 20 pieces total, different sizes, objects, and all that

LADOT…They’re Back!

During May 3rd’s Bike Plan Implmentation Team’s meeting, officials from LADOT laid out their plan to delay implementation of many parts of the city’s new bike plan in order to perform expensive, lengthly, and unneeded environmental impact reviews.

Joe Linton reports:

the city is proposing to spend 500 thousand dollars to spend “12-18 months*” to decide whether it will implement 100-200 thousand dollars worth of bike lane projects. The main issue is whether the city has to spend huge amounts of money studying environmental impacts before proceeding with implementing approved bike lanes.

It appears that LADOT has begun to revert back to their standard operating procedure of delaying progress and hiding from public scrutiny their decision making processes and criteria.

Many of you worked long and hard to see that the city designed and passed a real bike plan with potential to actually impact the role of bicycles as transportation in Los Angeles. But we knew the fight wasn’t over. Call and write the Mayor, your city councilman, and DOT officials to let them know that you insist that Los Angeles follow through on its promises and plans.

Spoke’n art, yes the very chill ride so chill you really have nothing to do but make new friends and look at crazy art. There is a fast ride led by charlie of the iron horses or simon and the rest of us and chicken leather holding up all the broken bikes and slow chicks definitely the place to be. We roll at 7pm to return to the oven at 10pm where this month darker de Milo will play and hopefully we’ll have some footage from chicken about the ciclovia. Right down memories bring picture and we’ll put them on the wall. If that fails Zeneli’s $20 art show will be up. F’n paintings for twenty bucks and they are good. We must burn the pinata to ensure that the ciclovia gods will give us a good ciclovia to have another another day. Come have fun , we’ll shut the party down early like twelve so you kids can sleep.
